As a former USA National Team member, NCAA Division I athlete, and someone who has worked with and alongside talented age group and collegiate swimmers, I feel well qualified to help families navigate age group swimming and manage college placement. For this purpose, I founded Streamline Swimming. My goal is to work with dedicated families who are focused on helping their age group swimmer realize the dream of swimming collegiately. Through my years in the sport, I have networked with coaches, athletes, and administrators in the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, NJCAA, USA Swimming, and age group coaches from around the United States. My extensive swimming experience at the age group, NCAA Division I (University of Virginia), and USA National Team level has allowed me to witness the commitment and work ethic necessary for student-athletes to transition successfully into college.

Realizing the college placement process can be complex and somewhat overwhelming, I strive to help each client employ a "best fit" philosophy when identifying and targeting potential colleges and swim programs to attend. During my 16 years of competitive swimming, I had the opportunity to see firsthand what was required for a swimmer to compete successfully at the various levels of college swimming — NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III as well as NAIA and NJCAA. Furthermore, I have toured and researched numerous university campuses and college swim programs in an effort to help Streamline Swimming clients develop a realistic list of target schools. This is a critical step in the college placement process.

In an effort to disseminate useful and practical information to an interested age group swimming audience, I have authored SwimmingWorld Articles and have spoken about this issue in on-screen and print interviews. Now, through the Streamline Swimming program, I look forward to sharing this knowledge with the next generation of swimmers and to assist in their age group swim development and college placement.

Changing the Recruiting Process.

Streamline Swimming was founded to help swimming families navigate and manage the college placement process. As I was traveling around the United States for swim clinics with the Fitter and Faster Swim Tour or warming up at a swim meet, swimmers and parents would approach me asking for advice on the college recruiting process. With all of the information online, I questioned why so many individuals were having the same problem!

It’s not them; it is the process. Parents and swimmers are being asked to do something nearly impossible. The college process is a lot like putting together a jigsaw puzzle, only without all the pieces, or a picture on the box to guide you. As the months pass, you collect more pieces, the final scene becomes clearer, and the last piece fits in as if it was always going to make sense.

By bringing in an unbiased third-party, who has recently dealt with the process in many capacities, to help guide families through the process, the “jigsaw” puzzle comes together easier and more efficiently. By being proactive and working through the college recruiting process in a timely manner, there will be less stress and anxiety when choosing a school.

My goal as a college consultant is mentor swimmers and families through this complex college recruiting process to help them make well-informed and sound decisions, that will enhance their overall swimming development, and lead to long-term success in life beyond swimming.

Courtney is the perfect person to consult regarding your future in college athletics. She was one of the most sought after recruits in her class, handled the process like a professional, and went on to become one of the fastest backstrokers in American history. I can attest to her character and passion for helping people succeed. She will undoubtedly do whatever she can to help those around her achieve their goals.
— Dan Schemmel, University of Hawaii Head Coach
What sticks out the most to me about Courtney’s work ethic is that she genuinely cares for her clients and wants the best for them. I’ve heard Courtney talk to clients on numerous occasions and she would not stop until she understood their needs so she could provide them the right solution. So glad Courtney is able to combine her talents with her passion for swimming and offer guidance to those who may need it!”
— Guelila Coupet
Courtney has been a wonderful mentor to my daughters on our summer swim team. She has such a tremendous knowledge of swimming that she can work with swimmers of all ages and abilities. On top of that, Courtney is hard-working, kind, and a joy to be around.
